about Kolahoi Glacier trek tour
Dal Lake is a lake in Srinagar, the summer capital of Jammu and Kashmir. The urban lake, which is the second largest in the state, is integral to tourism and recreation in Kashmir and is named the "Jewel in the crown of Kashmir" or "Srinagar's Jewel". The lake is also an important source for commercial operations in fishing and water plant harvesting.
Pahalgam means “A Village of Shepherds“is situated on the banks of the Lidder River, Pahalgam at an altitude of 7,000 feet is a picturesque township. Pahalgam is also the staging point for one of Kashmir oldest and most popular Kolahoi Glacier Trek. The Kolahoi glacier is Kashmir biggest glacier and also the main water supply of the Jhelum. Kolahoi is Kashmir only endless source of water.
Long Tour Itinerary
Day 01:- Arrival Srinagar - Local Sightseeing
Day Highlights Mughal Gardens, Dal Lake and Houseboat
Day Details On your arrival at the Srinagar International Airport, you will be welcomed by our representative who will assist and escort you to your waiting vehicle. From the airport it is a 35 minutes drive through the heart of New Srinagar city. The drive takes you past the Abdullah bridge which connects the banks of the Jehlum river, snaking its way towards the North-Western frontier of Kashmir. We arrive at the houseboat and check in. Later afternoon we take a tour of Shankaracharya Temple, It is believed that it was the place where the great philosopher and saint Shankaracharya stayed when he visited Kashmir ten centuries ago to revive Sanatan Dharma. The original ceiling was dome- shaped and the brick roof is not more than a century old. And later proceed further to Hazratbal Mosque, Situated in a village on the western shores of the Dal Lake opposite Nishat Bagh, it is a pristine white marble edifice casting its reflection in the waters of the lake. Unlike the other mosques in Srinagar, which have a pagoda like roof, Hazratbal is the only mosque to have a domed roof mosque in Srinagar; the others having distinct pagoda like roofs Gardens & Jama Masjid, Situated in the heart of the old city of Srinagar, this huge mosque is visited by thousands of people who congregate here for the Friday prayers. Later in the afternoon we take a sightseeing tour of Mughal Gardens starting our visit to Nishat Bagh (The garden of pleasure) and Shalimar Bagh (Abode of love). We will explore the gardens and later drive back to the Houseboat for a Dinner and Overnight stay.
Day 02: Srinagar drive toward Pahalgam Aru (105 km)
Day Highlights After breakfast drive towards Pahalgam
Day Details Departure from Srinagar by Jeep (early in the morning) after breakfast to Pahalgam. (2195 m high). 7201 feet. Pahalgam is surrounded by Mulberry trees; you may also do some trout fishing at a river (field stream). From Pahalgam will you go further on till ARU, gradual up the road (10 km long) on your way, you will find lots of trees, pine towers. After this, you will reach green meadows. (Camp - overnight in tent at ARU - 7923 feets) 2415 m.
Day 03: Aru Valley to Lidderwat (9 to 11 km)
Day Highlights Trek to Lidderwat, Evergreen Pine and Maple Trees
Day Details A gradual climb in the beginning, (traverse) through beautiful pine forest to Lidderwat. Camp at Lidderwat 8957 feets high 2730 m.
Day 04: Lidderwat to Kolahoi to Lidderwat Base Camp (13 to 14 km)
Day Highlights Trek to Kolahoi,
Day Details From Lidderwat to glacier: A gradual 28 km track makes you to return to the base of Kolahoi Glacier (11155 feet’s high) 3400m. Kolahoi peak is in a high of 17799 feet’s 5425 m. Overnight tent.
Day 05 Trek from Lidderwat to Aru (11 Kms Trek Ends) Aru to Srinagar drive.
Day Highlights Trek Ends Here and Back to Srinagar for Night Stay.
Day Details From Lidderwat to Pahalgam. Way down from Lidderwat to Pahalgam (by Jeep) and then, way back to Srinagar. Overnight stay at Houseboat.
Day 06: Rest day in Srinagar.
Day Highlights Rest at Houseboat and Shikara Ride.
Day Details Rest at Houseboat Later we will go on a 02 hrs shikara ride in the lake. This boat ride glides you past some wonderful vegetable gardens and aquatic life. Dinner and Overnight in Houseboat.
Day 07: Departure, Transfer to Srinagar Airport
Day Highlights Package Ends Here.
Day Details After a late morning breakfast, we will drive to the airport for your flight home. On your way to the airport you can make a brief stopover for some last minute shopping in the city center. At the airport the driver will assist you with the luggage and will later drop you at the terminal.

Booking conditions
All bookings are subject to availability of space at Camp. We book space on a 100% advance. All payments by wire transfer, cash or online payment system in favor of “Apharwat Tour And Travels.”

Cancellations
If it becomes necessary to cancel your tour, you must notify “Apharwat Tour And Travels” immediately in writing. Once we receive your notice, cancellation will take effect. Please note that the following charges will apply on cancellation:
if cancellation takes place more than 40 days prior to departure, your full deposit will be returned except a processing charge of INR 2000.
if cancellation takes place between 40 and 30 days prior to departure, 50% of the tour price will be forfeited and if cancellation takes place less than 30 days prior to departure, 100% of the tour price will be forfeited.
