Long Tour Itinerary
Day 01: Arrival Leh:- Arrival Leh in the morning and transfer to the hotel. Full day of rest for acclimatization to the high altitude of Leh (11,500 ft / 3500 mt). Overnight in hotel.
Day 02: Leh (Local Sightseeing):- Today morning after breakfast, have sightseeing of Shanti-Stupa (Shanti Stupa is situated at a height of 4267 meters overlooking the Leh city, it gives a panoramic view of surrounding snow-capped mountains ), Leh Palace, Stok Palace & Museum(The Leh Palace has nine stories which are in ruins now. Though it has been maintained now, it is uninhabited. The majestic palace overlooks the Namgyal hill and is nestled amidst breath taking locales of the Himalayas.), Spituk Monastery & Kaali Mata Mandir, 3 idiot school. Rest of the evening is free for leisure. Overnight stay at Hotel.
Day 03: Leh- Nubra Valley Via Khardung La Top:- (120 kms/ 05 Hrs Approx) After breakfast get ready for transfer to the gorgeous Nubra Valley via Khardungla Pass- one of the highest motorable roads in the world with an altitude of 18,380 feet. As you reach the Valley, check into the hotel. Have lunch. Later, leave the comforts of your room to enjoy a ride on double-humped camel's back to explore the Sand Dunes between Deskit and Hundur Village. Treat your eyes to the scenery all around.Overnight in Nubra Valley.
Day 04: Nubra Valley - Pangong Lake:- After breakfast drive to Pangong Lake via Shayok River you can enjoy views of amazing landscape beauty. The view itself gives you a rush of adrenal in with its limitless opportunities of adventure. Stop for lunch at Durbuk. After a break of 1 hour, continue with your drive to Pangong Lake. On arrival, check into the tents. Bask in bliss with a view of the multiple blue colors of the water. In addition, start gazing at Pangong Lake is also an experience of a lifetime.Overnight stay in Pangong Lake.
Day 05: Pangong Lake to leh:- Early morning enjoy the picturesque view of Sun rise on lake. After Breakfast drive back to Leh, Overnight stay in Leh.
Day 06: Leh To Kargil:- (224 Kms / 6 To 7 hour) After breakfast you drive downstream along the River Indus on Leh - Kargil Highway. En-route visiting Gurudwara Patthar Sahib Nestled deep in the Himalayas, A drive of another 4 km took us to Magnetic Hill which defies the law of gravity & further Driving through a picturesque landscape we reached the Confluence Of The Indus And Zanskar River, Just before Saspul a road to the right takes you for your visit to the Likir Monastery, Likir is one of the most active monasteries in the region. As you drive up to the monastery a recently installed colossal gilded image of the Maitreya out in the open is one of the most impressive sights in Ladakh. After visiting the Monastery you continue your drive towards Kargil en-route visiting the 11th century Lamayuru Monastery en-route visiting the mesmerizing Moon Landscapes (you will believe why the name of this area is Moon-land. Exactly the same formations of Land are visible as on the moon), Later Drive to KARGIL over Fatu-la (13,489 ft) which is the highest pass on Srinagar - Leh road. Upon arrival in Kargil we check in at our Hotel for an overnight stay.
Day 07: Kargil To Srinagar Via Sonamarg:- After early Breakfast by 6.00 am drive to Srinagar passing through Drass, the second coldest inhabited Place on earth and you can have spectacular view of Kargil War famous Peaks Tiger Hill and Tololing Peak. Pay a tribute to Vijay Smarak, dedicated to Indian Soldiers who laid their lives for us during Kargil War in 1999. Arrive Srinagar by Afternoon. Rest of the time for own activities. Overnight at Houseboat.
Day 08: Srinagar Local Sightseeing and Shikara Ride : - After an early breakfast go on a 02 hrs Shikara ride in the lake. This boat ride glides you past some wonderful vegetable gardens and aquatic life. Later we we take a morning tour of Shankaracharya Temple, It is believed that it was the place where the great philosopher and saint Shankaracharya stayed when he visited Kashmir ten centuries ago to revive Sanatan Dharma. The original ceiling was dome- shaped and the brick roof is not more than a century old. And later proceed further to Hazratbal Mosque, Situated in a village on the western shores of the Dal Lake opposite Nishat Bagh, it is a pristine white marble edifice casting its reflection in the waters of the lake. Unlike the other mosques in Srinagar, which have a pagoda like roof, Hazratbal is the only mosque to have a domed roof mosque in Srinagar; the others having distinct pagoda like roofs Gardens & Jama Masjid, Situated in the heart of the old city of Srinagar, this huge mosque is visited by thousands of people who congregate here for the Friday prayers. Later in the afternoon we take a sightseeing tour of Mughal Gardens starting our visit to Nishat Bagh (The garden of pleasure) and Shalimar Bagh (Abode of love). We will explore the gardens and later drive back to the Houseboat for a Dinner and Overnight stay.
Day 09: Srinagar - Pahalgam - Srinagar:- (95.2 kms. / 2:47 mints) Today trip will be to a picturesque valley around 97 kilometers South of Kashmir. Known as Pahalgam (which means The Shepherds Village), the valley is renowned the world over for its exotic forests, pretty water streams and imposing snow peaks. In Pahalgam you can visit Betaab Valley and Chandanwari as well as take a horse riding trip to Baisaran meadows. After sightseeing around the mountain valley for most of the day, we will drive back to Srinagar and transfer to the Houseboat for our overnight stay.
Day 10: Srinagar - Gulmarg - Srinagar:- (54.9 kms. / 2:20 mints) After breakfast in the morning, we will begin our country side day trip towards Gulmarg. The drive past colorful villages and rice fields, gives you an insight of the rich cultural past of Kashmir. We arrive at a small picturesque market town of Tangmarg and drive ahead on a scenic drive of 14 kilometers to Gulmarg. We arrive in Gulmarg early in the afternoon and begin a short tour around the meadow familiarizing ourselves with the beauty. In Gulmarg we will board the Gondola cable car system, and ascend towards the Apharwat Mountain range. The 08 minutes of rope-way will take you past colorful shepherd huntsmen to the lower ridge of the Apharwat peak. From here you can click lots of photos of the nearby mountain ranges that stand tall like sentinels guarding the rich natural beauty of Kashmir valley. We descend back to Gulmarg base after an hour or so and later do some horse-riding to the strawberry valley. In the evening we will drive back to Srinagar where we can take a walk along the banks of the Dal Lake or simply rest in the cosy rooms of our houseboat. Dinner and Overnight in Houseboat.
Day 11: Departure Transfer To Airport:- After a late morning breakfast, we will drive to the airport for your flight home. On your way to the airport you can make a brief stopover for some last minute shopping in the city center. At the airport the driver will assist you with the luggage and will later drop you at the terminal.
